Opera Chorus – ALTO
We expect from you:
- to have graduated or are graduating with BA or MA specializing in classical singing;
- to have prior work experience as a soloist or choir singer;
- English language skills and knowledge of Italian, Russian, German, and French at pronunciation level would be beneficial;
- good sight-reading skills and knowledge of different musical styles;
- good team-player with good stress tolerance.
We offer:
- 56 days of paid holidays annually;

- full-time job with salary 1600 euros (gross) monthly;
- opportunity to apply for soloist roles at Vanemuine Theatre.
The audition will take place in two rounds.
To participate in the 1st round, please send your CV together with an overview of your musical activities and a video recording of two freely chosen opera arias.
2nd round participants are called in for an auditionthat takes place in three parts:
1) Works presented in the video round
2) Voice parts from the following works:
- Puccini „Turandot“: Finale / pp. 382-384 (edition Riccordi)
- Bizet „Carmen“: lk 34-39 Choeur des Cigarieres
- Verdi „Requiem“: Libera me, Fugue / pp. 130-140 (edition Peters)
- Purcell „King Arthur“: pp. 27-30 / pp. 65-67 (edition Novello)
3) Sight-Reading test
The audition is followed by a test of vocal range and an interview.
Please send the video together with your CV by March 30th 2025, to address konkurss@vanemuine.ee with the title „Chorister“. The singers that are accepted to the 2nd round will be sent an invitation via e-mail together with detailed instructions and sheet music. The pianist will be provided by us.
The second round will take place on the May 8th 2025 at Vanemuine Theatre, in Tartu, Estonia.
Starting time of employment August 2025.
