AUDITION
Vanemuine Theatre Opera Chorus / Estonia – BASS
We expect from you:
- to have graduated or are graduating with BA or MA specializing in classical singing;
- to have prior work experience as a professional choir singer;
- English language skills and knowledge of Italian, German and French at pronunciation level would be beneficial;
- good sight-reading skills and knowledge of different musical styles;
- good team-player with good stress tolerance.

The audition will take place in two rounds.
1st round: please send your CV together with an overview of your musical activities and a video recording with two songs in different styles and languages, one of which must be an opera aria.
2nd round: selected singers will be invited for an audition
1) Same works performed that are sung in the video round
2) Voice parts from:
- Verdi Requiem: Libera me bars 193-303
- Mozart Requiem: Kyrie
- Puccini „Turandot“ end of II Act, pp 278-284 (Ricordi)
- Purcell „King Arthur“ PP 27-30 „To Woden´s Hall“ / pp 65-67 „We breathren of air“ (Novello)
3) Sight-Reading test
The audition is followed by a test of vocal range and an interview.
Please send the video together with your CV by May 4th 2025 to konkurss@vanemuine.ee with the title „Chorister-bass“.
The chosen singers for the 2nd round will be sent an invitation together with detailed instructions and sheet music.
The pianist will be provided by Vanemuine Theatre.
The second round will take place on June 5th 2025 at Vanemuine Theatre, in Tartu, Estonia.
Starting time of employment August 2025.
