Aida

Aida

Opera

Vanemuine Theatre and the Pärnu International Opera Music Festival PROMFEST present

The main characters in this opera are two princesses, Aida and Amneris, who fight for the love of one and the same man – Radames. Sooner or later all three face a choice: whether to stay true to their homeland or choose love.
Verdi lays a colourful palette of human relationships before us – faith, love, hatred, manipulation, hope(lessness) and betrayal. It turns out that the opera, which is considered one of the most spectacular ever written, is paradoxically rather constrained. As such, the small building of the Vanemuine with its intimate atmosphere seems an excellent setting for Aida.
