In August, as part of the opening festival of Vanemuine Theatre’s 156th season, a grand gala concert will take place, featuring the best of Swedish musical theatre director Georg Malvius’s work in Vanemuine Theatre. The concert is held to celebrate the 80th birthday of Georg Malvius.

Malvius has staged 24 productions in Estonia, including not only musicals and drama productions but also Ábrahám’s operetta Ball at the Savoy and the operas The Barber of Seville (Rossini) and The Elixir of Love (Donizetti). In his long-standing collaboration with Vanemuine Theatre, he has directed beloved musicals such as Grease, Chess, Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast.
