10th anniversary of our summer concerts
In 2010, the Vanemuine Theatre resurrected a wonderful tradition – the summertime garden concerts with a classical repertoire that took place in the first quarter of the 20th century. Now, for the 10th time, on the last Sunday in July, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra will be giving a free summer concert in Kassitoome Valley. The venue will open to the public at 18:30.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Vanemuine is having to reorganize this year’s concert in a way that observes all of the restrictions that have been imposed and to reduce the number of attendees to a maximum of 2000 people. Those who wish to enjoy the performance of the orchestra and soloists in Kassitoome should obtain a free pass from either the Vanemuine Theatre website or the box office in the main building. This will ensure that you gain access to the limited space available to the public. Gathering outside the venue is neither recommended nor allowed. Admirers of symphonic music will also be able to enjoy the concert from their homes, as it will be broadcast on ETV from 22:00.
When coming to the concert, bear in mind the following changes to traffic on 26 July: from 8:00-00:00, K.E. von Baer Street will be closed to cars from the Näituse Street intersection onwards and from 18:00-22:00 both Oru and K. E. von Baer streets will be closed.
