Two elderly actors decide to revive one of their hit acts after a long hiatus. For years their sketches have wowed audiences who know nothing about the off-stage relationship of their favourites, which has been full of tension, accusations and rivalry. Is it funny? Tragic? Human?
With its brilliant dialogue, this play by renowned American dramaturge Neil Simon focuses on theatrical legends, having also become a legend himself. Written in 1972, the play has also been produced with great success in Estonia, where the alternating partners of Jüri Järvet were Eino Baskin and Aarne Üksküla who partnered up again in the same play years later. The expression “sunshine boy” also became popular in the Estonian language.
