Have you ever felt that there are things left unsaid in your family? That there are topics you never discuss with your parents? Questions you want to ask but don’t? Conversations that haven’t happened and continue to haunt you? That we speak too little—should speak more—but don’t know how, or are too afraid, or the moment never feels right? A whole nation’s worth of unspoken truths, unanswered questions, and missing connections. They affect our lives, echo within us, whether we like it or not.
The documentary play Unspoken gathers untold stories from Estonians: both those that may remain forever unspoken and those where difficult but important conversations finally begin, lifting a long-held weight. In what remains unspoken, we are always alone and distant—but in sharing, there lies the possibility of coming together.
