The Variation (Suluseis)
Drama by Kristian Hallberg
A middle-aged, middle-class man, his mother and pre-school-aged daughter. The man is a vegetarian and actively fights racism. But when his daughter has a conflict with a playmate from an immigrant family, the man loses his faith completely.
The play by one of the Sweden’s playwrights from the younger generation, Kristian Hallberg (b. 1982), talks about overcoming barriers in our society and the prejudices that lurk deep down in the best of us. It explores how easily accusations can start flying and how adult traumas and phobias are passed on to our children.
Premiere 25.11.2016 at Sadamateater (The Harbour Theatre)
